Karin Conde‑Knape, PhD is Senior Vice President and Chief Scientific Officer at Valo Health, where she leads scientific strategy and execution across the company, advancing a diverse portfolio of internal programs and global collaborations aimed at delivering transformative therapies for patients. She brings more than two decades of experience across multiple disease areas within global pharmaceutical organizations.

Prior to joining Valo Health, Dr. Conde‑Knape had an extensive career at Novo Nordisk, where she held multiple senior leadership roles, including Senior Vice President of Early Development and Global Drug Discovery. In this capacity, she led research and early development across multiple therapeutic areas and modalities, driving innovation through both internal teams and external collaborations.

Before Novo Nordisk, Dr. Conde‑Knape served as Vice President, Cardiovascular and Metabolism at Johnson & Johnson, where she was responsible for identifying, establishing, and managing external scientific partnerships spanning early research through clinical proof of concept in cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. Earlier in her career, she held senior research leadership roles at Roche, including Global Head of Discovery within the Cardiovascular, Renal, and Metabolism Disease Therapeutic Area.

Dr. Conde‑Knape has been recognized as one of the “Fiercest Women in Life Sciences” by Fierce Pharma and one of the top 20 women breaking new ground in biopharma R&D by Endpoints News. She holds a PhD in Nutritional Biochemistry from the University of Connecticut and has authored numerous publications in cardiometabolic disease biology and translational research.
